About SSL Certificates

The CSAI instruments are Level B assessments, which are available only to coaches who have appropriate training and credentials, and who adhere to the principals of proper use, including knowledge of assessments and their applications.

Level B Qualification

The Level B classification is based on The Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing (published by APA, AERA, and NCME and available here). The Standards is written for the professional and for the educated layperson and addresses professional and technical issues of instrument development and use in education, psychology, and employment.

To license a Level B assessment you must either have been granted an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university and have satisfactorily completed a course in interpretation of psychological assessments and in measurement OR have taken and passed an approved workshop for the assessment.

CernySmith Requires Level B Qualification Plus Approved Training

To purchase and use CSAI assessments requires meeting Level B qualification. CernySmith additionally requires the completion of an approved test specific CSAI Level 1 training program for all applicants. Applicants without a qualifying undergraduate degree are additionally required to document two years of personal cross-cultural experience and complete an approved CSAI Level 1 Intensive training program. Ongoing CSAI qualification also will require updating continuing education requirements in CSAI interpretation and coaching skill development.

Qualifying Training Programs

CernySmith provides a unique opportunity to gain the necessary background in test administration and interpretation by accrediting training organizations to provide training in the CSAI assessment tools. Successful completion of one of these test-specific programs qualifies one to purchase services and materials upon which the training is based. Qualification training is also available internationally through these organizations and through the CernySmith training workshops.

To apply for CSAI Accreditation you must: 1) have two years minimum experience as a CSAI coach, 2) have interpreted and coached at least 50 CSAI assessments, and 3) have successfully completed a minimum of 30 hours of approved CSAI training.
